We chose it because: it is a repair shop with a strong social impact that focuses on selling, fixing and renting bicycles, the most eco-friendly means of transport ever existed!

Demetra Social Bike is an assisted-service bicycle repair shop that came into existence thanks to a project that aimed to reintegrating disadvantaged people into the labor market. The space of the repair shop, in via Capo di Lucca 37, next to the bus station and at a stone’s throw from Bologna’s main railway station, combines commitment to environment and social goals. Demetra support a culture of cycling mobility by encouraging restoration activities – in fact at Demetra even old broken bicycles that were abandoned are repaired, bringing them back to life!

At Demetra you can find a wide range of second bikes, cheap used bikes at top condition, but also new bikes, pedal-assist bikes and rental bikes.
