Masaniello restaurant and ethical pizza joint is run by Formica social cooperative, who focuses on reintegrating underprivileged people into the labour market. Masaniello pizza joint is ethical because it uses goods that were seized from mafia, products manufactured by reintegrating underprivileged people, products made by businesses that fight against racketing, and organic farm-to-table ingredients. Masaniello is ethical because happiness rather than profit is at the core of its business, with an eye to sustainability and a strong focus on fighting against mafia that make it a place where catering services is not only their first goal but also an excuse to show that social economy is possible, a place that fosters critical and aware consumption.
Masaniello has a small take-away pizza joint just outside San Donato’s gate and a bigger restaurant located at Circolo la Fattoria, in Pilastro neighborhood.
